Background

Genaistance is a time relevant pan India digital transformation project conceptualized, designed, and executed by the Department of Professional Studies, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) to provide digital native commerce students with customized, personalized, and intuitive learning experiences. The purpose of Genaistance is to transform the traditional finance and accounting curriculum to a highly digitized FinTech curriculum. Genaistance is designed to guide students with purpose, value, and positive experiences.

The purpose of Genaistance is to transform the traditional finance and accounting curriculum to a highly digitized FinTech curriculum. Other salient components of the project are the following:

  • To enhance student learning experiences through customized, personalized learning leveraging AI and analytics-based insights. Digitally computed comprehensive score for each student considering multidimensional achievements

  • To impart industry relevant cutting edge digital skill development by incorporating practical technology components in regular subjects every semester. Opportunities to interact with practicing professionals. 

  • Add-on Digital courses for gradual and continuous skill upgradation.  Opportunities to interact with industry experts and startup ecosystems.  Upskilling and reskilling opportunities to become competitive in the job market.

  • Inculcate the culture of self-learning and self-navigation among student communities through Digital Clubs. Opportunity for peer-to-peer learning, leadership building, industry interactions and entrepreneurship.

  • Provide unbiased, timely learning progression through digital exams and digital evaluations of all add on courses and technology components in curriculum.

  • Use digital technology where possible in all the social outreach projects of the university.

Project Differentiators

The time relevant, pan India digital transformation project  has several differentiating factors:

  • Transformation of the traditional finance and accounting curriculum to a highly digitized FinTech curriculum.

  • Personalized learning and comprehensive student score based on the achievements in multiple academic and nonacademic areas. AI driven system is under development.

  • Commerce students enabled with practical technology and problem-solving skills leading to productivity improvements and innovation in industry.

  • Continuous industry academia collaboration through interventions of practicing professionals to teach technology components in curriculum and execution of add on programs.

  • Using technology and tools in social outreach programs for real life learning.

  • AI chatbot under development to provide round the clock support for students on matters concerning regular subject related questions.

  • 360-degree alumni feedback and relevant incorporations

  • AI and ML technology has witnessed transborder crossing from engineering (STEM) discipline to finance, accounting, and taxation. Our interventions have proven rapid adoption of AI and ML by our students. Three of the AI and ML based startup ideas pitched by students are shortlisted for due consideration.

Outcome.

Quantitative.

  • The multifaceted project has several quantitative and qualitative outcomes:

  • 5126 students were trained on various technologies and tools through Add-On Courses

  • 600 students were imparted practical and domain specific knowledge through curriculum intervention.

  • 45 students participated in the social outreach projects of the department and developed their practical skills in project management and data analytics. They got   opportunities to develop soft skills and empathetic leadership.
